Types of Condoms and What Women Like About ThemGo to a pharmacy or other store and you will see that condoms come in a
variety of sizes, colors, and even flavors. There are small ones, skinny ones, purple ones,
strawberry ones, peppermint ones, ones that glow in the dark - you name it, and it probably exists.
Soon, we might find that we already have as many types of condoms as Hallmark have cards: Condoms for brithdays,
condoms for the 4th of July, condoms for Christmas...
There used to be a time, not too long ago, when there was only one kind of condom out in the market, as far as the texture (or nubbing) is concerned. And that is another monumental change In the world of condoms. Today, you can buy condoms that are adorned with latex ridges or ribs. Some of the texturing is on the exterior, but some condoms are studded both inside and outside. No doubt the promise from the manufacturers is that these interior and exterior additions provide the user (and usee) with added enjoyment. Exactly how many different kinds of condoms are out
there? And what are thesignificant differencesm if any? Basically,
all condoms fall under 8 general categories:
There is another catagory of condom, while beyond the scope of this article about men's condoms, that I should mention. I am referring to the female condom, which a woman places inside her vagina. (If you are a guy reading this and are averse to putting on condoms, this should give you an idea...)
Now we come to what is probably the most important question:
"What are the
qualities of a good condom?"
In terms of material, latex is probably the best; avoid the naturally made ones (lambskin from lamb intestines, for example). Condoms made from natural materials are porous enough to allow the possibility of virus-transmission. Another aspect to consider is the use of lubricants. Pick a water-based libricant iif the condom you choose is not pre-lubricated. Even if the condom is pre-lubricated, additional lubrication maybe needed. Water-based lubricant which include K-Y jelly or Astroglide can be applied both inside and outside the condom. This can help prevent rips. Oil-based lubricants (like Vaseline or other petroleum jellies, body lotions, baby oil, mineral or vegetable oils) should not be used as these liquids can cause the condom to dissolve! Size-wise, pick condoms that fit you snuggly. As condoms come in variety of lengths, widths and thicknesses, then a little experimentation is needed to discover which is best for you. Test different brands when you are by yourself, you don't want to be embarrassed with the wrong condom when you are with someone. Of course, place the condoms on when you are fully erect. AS far as the other catagories such as the color and styles go, this may depend upon who you are with. Still most women appreciate playfulness in the bedroom, so its okay to bring more outrageous condoms with you. But it won't hurt to have more traditonal styles of condom on hand as well. What do women want in a condom? First, they want you to have one with you.
Some condoms are packaged to look like tampon containers and a few women are attracted to this. Form also counts - French ticklers (condoms having long appendages), to illustrate, have popular appeal. Such condoms like ones with the ridges may increase her pleasure during intercourse. Some women insist that their husbands/boyfriends buy the ultra thin type so that their men have more pleasure during intercourse as well. Interestingly, not all nationalities are alike when it comes to condoms. Japanese women, in fact, are insistent on using condoms over pills to prevent pregnancy, but they are not particular over the kind or form of condom to be used. As long as she is assured that it will not break, she probably would not actually care on what specific kind of condom is being used. If you are an American though, in Japan, a piece of advice: Bring your own condoms - the size manufactured there might be a little too snug... Some female experts state that women, in general, do not care about the ridges,
ribbing or the lubrication. But if
women were to be the ones that designed condoms, they would just make "padded"
condoms. Length would not really be crucial, but width is and
that is where the padding comes in.
Finally, women want condoms that work, but remember they are ready To be playful in their lovemaking and condoms can be part of the fun. There are two main purpose of using a condom: To prevent pregnancy and to prevent the transmission of sexual diseases. Make sure the condoms you use have not expired. If a condom is past its expiration date, or looks dry, brittle, stiff, or sticky, it shouldn't be used. Keeping a few spares on hand is always a good idea, in case one tears while being put on.
