Types of Condoms and What Women Like About Them
Go to a pharmacy or other store and you will see that condoms come in a
variety of sizes, colors, and even flavors. There are small ones, skinny ones, purple ones,

all condoms fall under 8 general categories:
There is another catagory of condom, while beyond the scope of this article about men's condoms, that I should mention. I am referring to the female condom, which a woman places inside her vagina. (If you are a guy reading this and are averse to putting on condoms, this should give you an idea...)
- The material. Most condoms are make from from polyurethane or latex.
- The width size (not the length). Note that comdoms
available in convenience shops are normally standard-sized.
- The kind of lubrication. Different slippery substances are used by different brands of
condoms.
- Spermicidal. Spermicidal lubricant is sometimes added to decrease the
possibility of pregnancy. One of the more common is called nonoxynol-9. Some
individuals are sensitive to this and in fact, if used a lot of times, may
heighten HIV-infection possibility. Note: Most studies suggest that using a regular condom and a
seperate spermicide to be a more efficient contraceptive method.
- Ribbed or Textured. There are many people out there who feel that condoms deaden the sexual senses,
they say "if AIDS were not so
prevalent, I would never use these. I cannot feel a thing." A ribbed or textured condom is
heaven-sent for them. It has ridges making sex more "feel-able" for the
couple.
- Color. This catagory is self-explanatory. Condoms come in a rainbow of colors.
- Flavor. These condoms cater to those daring individuals who have a propensity
for oral sex. Tastes can range from strawberry to who knows what else! However,
change to a different condom when you are ready for vaginal/anal sex.
- The reservoir tipped. Most condoms, in fact, have a reservoir-like end to hold the semen in. There are a few types which end in plain tips. When using a reservoir style condom, make sure that you pinch the tip before rolling it on. This is more or less mandatory action prevents any air being trapped in the condom. This tighter seal helps prevent slippage and breaking, when you are busy... and you don't want that to happen.

"What are the
qualities of a good condom?"
In terms of material, latex is probably the best; avoid the naturally made ones (lambskin from lamb intestines, for example). Condoms made from natural materials are porous enough to allow the possibility of virus-transmission.
Another aspect to consider is the use of lubricants. Pick a water-based libricant iif the condom you choose is not pre-lubricated. Even if the condom is pre-lubricated, additional lubrication maybe needed. Water-based lubricant which include K-Y jelly or Astroglide can be applied both inside and outside the condom. This can help prevent rips. Oil-based lubricants (like Vaseline or other petroleum jellies, body lotions, baby oil, mineral or vegetable oils) should not be used as these liquids can cause the condom to dissolve!
Size-wise, pick condoms that fit you snuggly. As condoms come in variety of lengths, widths and thicknesses, then a little experimentation is needed to discover which is best for you. Test different brands when you are by yourself, you don't want to be embarrassed with the wrong condom when you are with someone. Of course, place the condoms on when you are fully erect.
AS far as the other catagories such as the color and styles go, this may depend upon who you are with. Still most women appreciate playfulness in the bedroom, so its okay to bring more outrageous condoms with you. But it won't hurt to have more traditonal styles of condom on hand as well.
